Waredaca does not carry any insurance on privately owned horses. Many of you carry individual insurance on your animals. It is recommended that you consider major medical coverage in addition to your mortality insurance. It is important that the name of the insurance company, company representative and policy number be on file in the office

Also, if owners are going away, they MUST leave a telephone number where they can be reached and/or the name and telephone number of a local contact person responsible to make decisions in case of a true emergency. A written statement indicating emergency procedures to follow will also suffice. For example, how to intervene if your horse needs colic surgery in your absence. If your horse becomes ill, we will notify the vet and you, depending on the severity of the problem, and will perform whatever treatments, dispense medications and so on, as necessary. Waredaca personnel cannot authorize any emergency medical procedures and/or surgical treatments, or transport horses off the property in your absence.
