What is the Jackpot Derby?
The Jackpot Derby consists of a Dressage Test followed by a Jumping Course combining both stadium and cross-country fences on varied terrain that may include banks, ditches and water. The Jackpot Derby is an unrecognized competition, adhering as closely as possible to USEA Guidelines and US Equestrian Federation Rules providing a safe and inviting venue for first-time competitors, green horses, as well as seasoned competitors through the Preliminary level. The Jackpot Derby provides cross training for both horse and rider, regardless of their equestrian discipline. The Jackpot Derby classes are designed to offer more of an introductory to average experience rather than a challenging one per level. Riders are encouraged to enter more than one class.
Our intention with the Jackpot Derby is to provide riders with a proper, but fun and relaxed experience. The time schedule will be followed with allowances made as needed. Hopefully no one will feel rushed from Dressage to the Jumping phase, but please try to be timely – THANKS!
