The University of Maryland Equestrian Team is a club sport team which rides at Waredaca and competes under the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) against other schools in our region such as the College of William and Mary, Hood College, and Goucher College. We have about 40 riders on the team and compete in many shows throughout the fall and spring semesters.

Our team has several officers that help run the team:

All levels of riders at the University of Maryland can show in classes that range from Walk/Trot to "Open" which is about 3'3" jumping, but many members of the club prefer to just enjoy riding as a recreational event and participate in Saturday events such as Cross Country, Trail riding, and Dressage.

Thanks to the staff of Waredaca and coordinated efforts of the club and farm, the team even tied for 6th in its zone this past year and sent two riders on to Regions and one went to Nationals!

Instructors for this years program include Katherine Rizzo and Erica Carson!  Lessons occur on Monday and Thursday evenings.  There are also 'specia'l Saturday afternoon activities as an extra sign up opportunity during the fall and spring semesters for any of the club members.  The Saturday Fall dates are
