Gretchen Butts
Gretchen is an active eventing competitor, having successfully campaigned at the international four-star level. She is also a licensed eventing judge and technical delegate-- nationally and internationally, organizes recognized and starter events at Waredaca each year, serves on several key USEA/USEF committees, is a regular contributor to the USEA Eventing NEWS magazine and together with husband, Robert, manage the operations at Waredaca. Gretchen, who has completed the USEA ICP, teaches group and private lessons to students on their own horses who are looking to further develop their skills in all aspects of eventing. Steph Butts
Steph is an upper level event rider, having ridden internationally through the CCI*** level. She currently has several lower level horses she is bringing up through the levels. Steph has been teaching eventing and dresssage lessons, both private and groups, for 8 years at Waredaca. She teaches individuals on their own horses, lessons of the Waredaca school horses, and the University of Maryland's Equestrian Team. She is an A level Pony Club graduate, completed the USEA ICP, and recently spent a year riding in England and Holland with top international Eventers, Dressage, and Show Jumping riders. Gayle Ford
Gayle Ford, full time stable manager and instructor at Waredaca for over fifteen years is CHA instructor certified at levels 4 English, 4 Western, and standard certification instructor. She loves her work!
Jessica Snyder
Jessica Snyder has been riding since she was a child growing up at Waredaca. Jessica is the Director of Camp Waredaca's summer day camp programs. She is CHA certified. Jessica works at Waredca full time and in addition to teaching lessons, she coordinates the sponsorship program for the Waredaca Events and maintains the website.
Katherine Rizzo
Katherine recently completed a graduate degree in scientific illustration at U.C., Santa Cruz, where she was the Intercollegiate Dressage Association team's head coach. Katherine currently competes as an event rider on her horse Rockfish Willy (aka "Jack"). She also coaches AHC's Interschool hunter team as well as many Area II event riders. Katherine is CHA certifided as a Level 4 English and Level 2 Western instructor.
Liz Schroeder
Liz hails from Connecticut and began teaching riding while in college at BYU. During her time there she became a working student for Sally O'Connor. After college, she designed and ran a riding program for an alternative high school in Provo,UT. Liz then went on to become head groom at a large eventing barn in New Mexico. She has competed through First Level in Dressage and Preliminary in Eventing. She has been teaching at Waredaca for 10 years, is a regular pony club instructor and is currently pursuing her USEA ICP. She continues to compete and train her own horses.
Christie Baker
Christie has been riding at waredaca since she was 7years old. She is CHA certified and is currently a student at the university of MD college park, majoring in equine business management. she has been actively involved in 4-H for the past 6 years and performs and leads an equine drill team. She also owns her own horse, hawk, and currently leases a mare named emily and competes at the beginner novice level.
Stephanie Temme
Stephanie has taught group and private lessons at Waredaca for about 17 years, She currently teach adult riders interested in lower-level dressage. Most of her students own or lease their own horse and compete in local dressage competitions. Stephanie is also a full time support teacher with Montgomery County Public schools.
Kristen Lintvedt
Kristen is a recent graduate of the University of Maryland with a Bachelors degree in Animal Science with emphasis on Equine Studies. She has been a working student to Gretchen and Steph Butts for over 3 years, and is actively involved in Waredaca’s Pony Club Center. Kristen is a CHA certified instructor and certified equine massage therapist, and competes her horses in dressage and eventing.
Heidi Martin
Heidi has been riding since she was eight. She has been teaching balance and hunt seat for more than 20 years. Heidi coaches at local and rated shows.
Inga Reeves
Inga began teaching at Waredaca in 1985 and is CHA certified. She currently competes her horse Duncan in dressage and eventing. Inga also trains lower level event horses and coaches her students at local shows.
